People try all they can to be more productive each day, but as time goes, most of them let go, not because they have accepted time wastage, but because they have accepted the joy of life. That’s a fact and I think it should open the discussion in this article.
Productivity is a form of hard work, but sometimes it may not be hard work, but luck. I know and you know that not all hard work is productive. You can spend months building a robot from scratch. You may sacrifice each coin you have to buy the necessary makeup only to have the robot crashed to pieces by a car in it’s first outdoor test.
To everyone, there is no productivity in the example above because the robot which took all the hours and sweat is gone, but to some people, such situations are not detrimental to their productivity, but a source of power for a next launch. This is because that girl who made that robot knows all the mistakes she made and even if she never makes a robot ever in life, she’ll have one thing better than you, inner fulfilment.
Productivity for each day is a hectic task. To be productive, some people plan their days to the tip before sunrise, some plan off their heads as the day goes, some plan for weeks, but keep track of daily achievements, but no one plans and keeps that plan in his head.
That’s a lie many guys tell themselves. They trust their heads forgetting that our brains work like Android devices. When you move from app to app, the Android system linux engine keeps killing background apps to create RAM for new apps and most times when you go back to a recently used app, you may find that all your previous tasks have been flushed down.
Once you forget an innovative idea on how to improve a project or plan you have at hand then you’ll see why you should better how you use your phone or notebook. Great ideas aren’t easy to forget and achieve, but small ideas which are easy to achieve are always easily forgotten. That’s a pull back to your success because if you can’t achieve small then forget about achieving big.
In this whole article, I am only talking about two things; planning and reading. If you can get those two well then you can try all you can to follow your dreams up the ladder.
Planning
I have spent the introduction to this article on planning because it’s the peak. You have to plan everything. If you don’t then I think it may be something else for you. With planning as a big deal, you need to decide how you are going to plan each day. Not everyone can conform to a distinctive planning style. You need to try out three main planning strategies then decide whether to put yours before, after or in between.
A person who plans every move however weak his plans are can take faster steps than one who just lashes at the bush and tries to push through. Plans are separated by schedule.
1. Pre-day plans
These are plans made on the night before the actual day. They are made by very organized guys. These plans are good because you don’t have to wake up not knowing what you want to do for the day. You can capture this method if you don’t have much time for planning in the morning or your sleeping and waking times are late and late respectively.
2. The early bird
These are plans made in the wake of the day. They aren’t made when the sun is out, but when other guys are still twitching around their beds. These plans are good for early birds and meditators. You’ll realize that you won’t make plans without precision because you are super sober.
3. Day goers plans
If you see that all your time is full of stuff to do, try to plan on the go. These plans are good but they shouldn’t be made when the sun has tapped the 11:00am button. Seriously, can you plan for a day starting from midday? I think you would have wasted half of your major moments to no direction. Use this planning well because you can even forget to jot down plans because of the busy mentality.
You can work without written plans, but soon you’ll realize some activities you planned for that you didn’t do because nothing reminded you to do them.
Reading
Without reading, you can’t make good plans. When making major plans in you investments and even in your daily life, you need to read before you decide on what to do. Many people have solved problems that are lying in books. If you fall upon the same problem and you aren’t willing to read a pdf on how another guy solved it then you are doomed to spend weeks drilling a hole that has already been drilled. What do you benefit? Yet you could have solved it within four hours of reading.
The main books you need to read are encyclopedias, non-functional books and some fiction stars. You can also read biographies, memoirs and even fan-fiction. The main thing is to read what you like, but remember that reading and understanding something you’ve never known is as difficult and frustrating as reading something you don’t like so, you just need to learn how to keep fixating and turning the pages.
Conclusion
The main message is; read and plan your way to a better life. That’s it. We all live on this rocky plannet and we have to work our ways to where we want. Read what you want and plan to become what you wish. You are yourself and I am my own. Look at your self, are you happy, neutral, sad or masked? Any of those is good, but one. The mask. Let me know your say in the comments. Any questions are welcome. Thanks for reading.
