The most obvious question is that my YouTube has refused downloading, what can I do? You might think your app has bugs or you need to upgrade, but it’s not that. YouTube videos are light weight. A video downloaded from YouTube go is lighter than the same video downloaded from y2mate or any other downloader. That makes it priceless.
YouTube is sensitive and tends to try to control how you use your phone. That’s what makes it a hard option for video download yet it provides what people want. If your downloader only shows the play button, there are things you need to check for.
1. Phone storage
Just like Google play, YouTube is quite sensitive on the available space, but not so sensitive. Check your space and make sure you have enough. If you have less, but want to download videos without freeing up space, read to the end for working hacks.
2. Internet speed
Sometimes it’s because of your internet speed. Downloading is an action which is always done in the background. Because of that, YouTube gives space for you to only watch because if you download in slow internet, you might end up decreasing the speed of your data transfer in other apps like the browser.
3. Algorithm issues
Sometimes systems break down. I guarantee the reliability of YouTube go, but I can’t overstate it because every system has a breaking probability. You need to watch out for this because it may require upgrading or reinstalling the app. You shouldn’t put it first, but make it the last resort in case you don’t have any of the above causes.
How to fix download problems on YouTube go
1. Free up space
If you have little space and you are able to rubbish some files, do it and you’ll rekindle the download. Make it careful though. You can use the file explorer to clean up junk. Remove all the apps that don’t benefit you in the present even if they can be of use in the future. You’ll redownload them.
2. Move to a better connection
Maybe you live far away from the network booster. Consider moving towards the booster to double up on the speed. This is not a problem for most people, but it in Africa. Take it seriously.
3. Use already downloaded videos
When you open already downloaded videos, you will be presented with similar videos below. Just like the screenshot below.
Click one video. It can be any depending on what you want. If you have storage or internet speed problems, click the video when your mobile data is off such that the app can’t use any logic on you. Once you click download, restart the mobile data and the download will start.
If you need other videos, search for them while the other is downloading. You’ll be able to make any downloads. If that trick doesn’t work, consider using downloaded videos' related videos. These videos are selected depending on what you want. You can then move from one related vid to another meaning the more you download, the more you have as a collection to download from.
4. Use recommended videos
If your app froze when you hadn’t downloaded any videos and your space is down, wait for the recommended videos. These videos provide you with a download button on the go. That will be your first step before embarking on using already downloaded videos.
5. Reinstall or upgrade the app
This isn’t my recommendation, but if all fails and you are not a storage or network defaulter, get a new version or reinstall. If all fails, sorry, you’ll just need to look somewhere else.
YouTube can frustrate and people don’t want to free up space because there’s a reason they downloaded each and every app on their phones. This article is invaluable as a guide to playing YouTube.
