As 2021 slides out of view, planning for which skills you want to learn in 2022 turns life somehow nasty for many people. They just want to be who life will make them instead of who they expect life to make out of them. Learning a skill is of course hard if it's your fi rst encounter with it, but it's worthy your time.
Freelancing sites like freelancer, Upwork and Fiverr are looking for skilled people to make a living out of their skills and guys are making multiple digit dollars on such sites. When you are among the guys with very minute skills, you end up using most of your useful time on useless social media stuff yet you could be developing your skills on social media instead.
People move from place to place daily. They jump from task to task forgetting about the need to acquire more skills and enlarge on your potential of getting some money or taking your life to another level. Most times when we join school, we move through and out of the school with only an academic document and never any skill yet schools go to the extreme of providing an array of clubs for you to learn from.
If you did leave school without any skill for your future life, worry not because today I am listing some of the most vital skills that you should learn as we move into 2022.
1. Self discipline
This is the most important skill that you should acquire. It is an investment into how you control who you want to be and how your body is supposed to obey you throughout your journey. It's a great fi ght of knowing who you are, how you accept the environment around you and most importantly, how you react to changes around you.
Many books have been written to help people improve on their self discipline. The best books I would recommend are;
Seven habits of highly effective people by Stephen R Covey 12 Universal Rules of Success by Herbert Harris Some websites like life hack and zenhabits teach people how to bring their bodies under control.
2. Leadership
To muster up a group of great people to drive against a great problem and knock it down, you need to have good leadership skills. As people become fi nancially sound, they ignore the need to learn more about leadership and improve on how they handle people. Because they are ignorant about what great leadership skills could help them accomplish, they end up collecting a bunch of useless minions to do all they want without thought.
Many of such people don't live to see their dreams come through. That concrete fact makes leadership a great skill to gun down in 2022.
3. Public speaking
How will people know what you see in your thoughts if you can't stand up and say it with great detail. Speaking in front of many people is hard and I also fear it, but what you should acquire is the ability to settle down and accept the fact that you are in front of a large group of heads and you have to speak.
Most leaders and public speakers are taught relaxation skills like those used by monks and matial artists. These are series of diaphragm oriented breathing to make sure that much air is sucked in to cool the stess. When you use your diaphragm instead of the chest for breathing, no one can notice that you are struggling for air. Learn it too.
4. Accounting and commerce
At least all people think of one day owning a business, but that also comes with its own stress. At the early stages of business growth, you might not be able to get a full time accountant for your business meaning that if you fail to do proper accounting, your business will bleed money till it's no more.
Learn the balance sheet, Income statement and all the accounting principles then you'll be able to save your business from fraud.
Learn commerce too because that is where business is based on. Learn the types of businesses you can create, stock exchange ,and home and foreign trading.
5. Negotiation
You are going to be buying goods till you are dead. How much would you save if you could negotiate and ger all your purchases at a price less by about 2%. That's much money. You are going to start businesses, but remember that your ability to negotiate will save more working capital for your business and increase on the prof i tability.
Start practicing this one right away because very few people know it. As you master it, you'll be able to see all opportunities for you to pull less money for almost all types of goods.
6. Rationalism and neural psychology
Rationalism is simply trying to be as more perfect or less wrong as possible. It's a great tool to help you through your journey to understanding neural psychology and how people live daily. If you could waste some time, check out lesswrong to see how rationality works. Some guys are born with a rationalist thinking so if you see that all that is being laid out in lesswrong is obvious, simply do something else with your time.
7. Programming and web design
I can never miss to tell anyone how useful those two skills are. Do you want to talk to computers?
Do you want to invent new technology? Do you want to make mobile apps or websites? Or do you want to make robots?

8. Personal fi nancial management
Where will life take you if can't handle the money that knocks on you. Style up and try reading rich dad poor dad pdf or visit the rich dad website for free courses on fi nancial management.
