The world is spinning at a rate it has never before changing from state to state because of the uniting force that humanity has discovered, technology. As the world drives us to new times, learning how computers work becomes vital both in business and out of it. Remember that you'll need that knowledge sometime to come.
Information processing
You might need to collect information, analyze it, make a website or app for your business, work in a technology company either as a secretary or any vital post and finally,you might become broke someday. Having the skill to command a computer can help you in such cases. Instead of hiring a web designer, you can decide to code it yourself and that will save your small business from unnecessary expenses during its first years.
Look at a scenario where you are required to process information of up to 900 emails in a day working as a secretary. Trust me that's hectic, but if you can program your computer, you can instill mail-selection mechanisms into it and it will do the sorting. Of course you'll have to first analyze the emails inorder to identify the useless types and the obvious, identify words that are mostly found in junky mail and write code that will sort the emails daily reducing their number to about atmost 300. This can't be compared with the junk file of your email because that file lacks logic. it hides all information from the given source making you miss out on important information from that source.
Programming helps fasten communication.
You can also decide to program an app that will help you reply to text messages from friends depending on the obvious wording or try to code one that will really chat with a friend depending on how much you know about that friend and what you want to know about him for example an app robot can help you ask a friend several questions as you do any other thing. This is to save you time wasted in turning to text messages each time.
With programming, you can make communication around your workplace simple by using Bluetooth sent messages owing to the increase in the Bluetooth radius on latest computers and phones. This will save you data from sending messages, time from walking to a fellow worker and money from making a cable connection around the work place. You can manipulate maps using GPS to show location of everyone in your company. This will be around the work place inorder to prevent privacy breaches.
Programming can save you financially
Being broke can suck. When you have a skill, you can use it to save you from being broke, but if u can't make an app and earn from ads, make a website for someone, help other programmers debug their programs or teach someone how to program then you are either doomed to stay broke or escape it roughly.

Programming helps reduce world problems
The world is problematic and if few guys knew how to program, technology wouldn't have expanded to accounting, space exploration, medical science, metrology and education. You might be the next problem solver in your sector, but if you can't think like a programmer then you can't do anything to help.
Look around you, do you have any programming friends, if not, then you better style up. Computer languages can give headache when you are new to the arena, but it's the same thing everywhere. When I first started learning how to play the violin, my fingers were static and I thought that some guys were born for such things,but when I continued playing day by day, I learnt how to control all my fingers easily. The greatest distraction is yourself. I never want to be a great violinist and play in an orchestra, but I want to learn. One time in future, I might play it for my girlfriend or it will help me make friends who are passionate about violins and I have already made some.
